The Great Easter Egg Dye Dilemma...

Every Spring my daughter and I can be found in the Easter section of our local Target store scanning the many different packages of egg dye. There are so many choices to choose from, Tye dye, glitter (not recommended we used the glittery stuff one year and the result is crunchy hard boiled eggs!), tattoo, stickers and the list goes on and on... Then out of the corner of our eyes we saw it... The perfect one! The egg dye that is going to make the most perfect Easter egg ever! PearlScent by Easter Unlimited. I probably should have read the instructions before I purchased it.. After boiling the eggs and refrigerating them I decided it was time to get down to business. Had I read the directions I would have known the eggs needed to be warm for this particular dye. Long story short the whole process was a mess and did not make the beautiful eggs we saw on the box. I ended up breaking out the neon food coloring from the pantry and I must say the eggs turned out pretty cool. Next year I think I will save some time and a mess by simply throwing my $3.00 out the window and use what we already have at home!
